The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football, and plays its home matches at the Vitality Stadium. For much of its existence Bournemouth competed in the lower divisions of the Football League, but successive promotions under manager Eddie Howe brought the club to the Premier League for the first time in 2015, a significant moment in its development.
The club was relegated and later returned to the top flight, demonstrating a degree of resilience across recent seasons. Its squad has included players from across Europe, among them Fraser Forster, Duje Petrović, Bamo Diakité, James Hill, Álex Jiménez, and Veljko Milosavljević. Bournemouth's traditional colours are red and black stripes. The club has built a modest but committed supporter base, drawing largely from the surrounding Dorset area.
