The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football, and plays its home matches at the Gtech Community Stadium, which opened in 2020. For much of their history Brentford competed in the lower divisions of the Football League, but sustained success under manager Thomas Frank brought them promotion to the Premier League in 2021 for the first time in over seventy years.
The club developed a reputation for innovative recruitment and data-driven analysis during their rise through the divisions. Their squad includes goalkeepers Ellery Balcombe, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Hakon Valdimarsson, along with defenders Kristoffer Ajer, Nathan Collins, and Rico Henry.
