Udinese Calcio is a professional football club based in Udine, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy. Founded in 1896, the club competes in Serie A, the top tier of Italian football, and plays its home matches at the Bluenergy Stadium. The club has spent much of its history in the upper divisions of Italian football, with its most successful period coming in the late 1990s and 2000s under coach Alberto Zaccheroni and later during the tenure of Francesco Guidolin, when the club achieved several strong Serie A finishes and qualified for European competition.
Udinese has developed a reputation for identifying and developing talent from international markets, particularly from Africa and South America. The current squad includes goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Christian Kabasele, Saba Goglichidze, and Nicolo Bertola, along with Haps Kamara and veteran goalkeeper Daniele Padelli. The club remains an established presence in Italian top-flight football.
