Overview
Colombia's national football team is governed by the Federación Colombiana de Fútbol, which was founded in 1924. The team competes in CONMEBOL, South American football's governing body, and wears yellow, blue and red shirts reflecting the colours of the national flag. Colombia's greatest international honour is the Copa América title won in 2001, when the tournament was held on home soil. The team has qualified for several FIFA World Cup finals, with their most prominent campaign coming in 1994, and again in the 2010s when they reached the quarter-finals in Brazil in 2014.
The current squad includes experienced goalkeeper David Ospina alongside Álvaro Montero and Camilo Vargas as options between the posts. Defenders such as Santiago Arias, Wílmar Barrios and Jhon Lucumí provide the defensive structure.
