Ghana's national football team, known as the Black Stars, is governed by the Ghana Football Association, which was founded in 1957. The team competes in the Confederation of African Football and has won the Africa Cup of Nations on four occasions, in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982, placing it among the more successful sides in continental competition. Ghana has also qualified for the FIFA World Cup several times, reaching the quarter-finals in 2010.
The current squad includes goalkeepers B. Asare, J. Anang and L. Zigi, with defenders such as J. Adjetey, D. Luckassen and G. Mensah providing depth at the back.
