Overview

Norway's national football team is governed by the Norwegian Football Federation, which was founded in 1902, making it one of the older football associations in Europe. The team competes in UEFA qualifying campaigns for the FIFA World Cup and European Championship but has not won a major senior international title. Norway did reach the FIFA World Cup on several occasions in the twentieth century, with their 1998 appearance in France among the more notable. The team has historically produced individual players of considerable quality.

The current squad includes goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland and Eirik Selvik, defender Kristoffer Ajer, and further contributors such as Fredrik Bjørkan, Sander Tangvik, and Herman Falchener. Ajer has been among the more prominent figures in recent years, having played regularly at club level in England. Norway continues to develop young talent through its domestic league structure and youth programmes.
