Overview

Paraguay's national football team, known as La Albirroja for their traditional red and white colours, is governed by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol, founded in 1906. The team competes in CONMEBOL and has qualified for multiple FIFA World Cup tournaments. Their strongest World Cup performance came in 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals in South Africa. Paraguay has won the Copa América on two occasions, in 1953 and 1979, representing the peak of their continental achievement at senior level.

The team has historically produced technically capable defenders and disciplined tactical units, earning a reputation for resilience in competitive matches. Several generations of Paraguayan players have pursued careers in European and South American club football.

Current squad members include R. Fernandez, O. Gill, G. Olveira, O. Alderete, J. Alonso, and J. Cáceres, who represent the ongoing development of Paraguayan football at the international level.
