Overview

The Saudi Arabia national football team represents the country in international association football and is governed by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which was founded in 1956. The team competes within the Asian Football Confederation and has won the AFC Asian Cup on three occasions, in 1984, 1988 and 1996, making Saudi Arabia one of the most successful sides in the history of that competition. The team has also qualified for the FIFA World Cup on multiple occasions.

The current squad includes goalkeeper Mohammed Al Owais, who serves as a senior presence between the posts alongside Nawaf Al Aqidi and Ahmed Al Kassar. Defensively, Saud Abdulhamid and Nawaf Boushal have become prominent figures, while Abdulelah Al Amri adds further depth at the back. Salem Al Dawsari and Nasser Al Dawsari provide experience and creativity in midfield and attack. The team is preparing for upcoming World Cup qualification fixtures scheduled from June 2026.
