South Korea's national football team is governed by the Korea Football Association, which was founded in 1933. The team competes in the Asian Football Confederation and has won the AFC Asian Cup twice, in 1956 and 1960. South Korea has qualified for numerous FIFA World Cup tournaments and reached the semi-finals of the 2002 edition, which the country co-hosted with Japan.

The squad is currently managed under a structured setup across goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards, with 26 players in the present selection. Notable players include goalkeeper Jo Hyeon-Woo, defender Kim Min-Jae, who has established himself among the leading centre-backs in European club football, and forward Son Heung-Min, who is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished Asian players in the history of the game.
